NINJUTSU
Bramcote Bujinkan Ninpo Taijutsu
The original Nottingham Dojo was formed on Sunday 27th October 1985 at St. Barnabas Cathedral in Nottingham. The dojo had several different homes and instructors over the years before being passed on to the current senior instructor Jim Hough in 1998.
The Bujinkan organisation itself consists of the 9 individual martial arts lineages (ryuha) listed below that were passed down from Takamatsu Toshitsugu (1889 – 1972) to his successor Masaaki Hatsumi (1931 – present day)
Togakure-ryu Kumogakure ryu Gikan ryu
Koto ryu Gyokko-ryu Gyokushin-ryu
KukiShinden ryu Shinden fudo ryu Takagi Yoshin ryu
These schools pre-date most modern martial arts by hundreds of years and originate on the battlefields of medieval Japan.
The dojo is dedicated to teaching and keeping alive the ancient warrior arts of the samurai and Ninja.
